Jones in Grazia / magazine editorials

Problem statement
Align the digital design with the print collateral and bring the overall feel of an ageing brand up to date

The challenge
Preserve the heritage feel of the brand but at the same time push it forward into respected fashion publications and use the photography more effectively.

Approach
Role: Lead visual designer / Photographer
Disciplines: Design / Photography / Typography / Narrative

The brand colours and logo alone were more than enough to maintain the feeling of tradition and being respectful to the overall theme by not overloading the layouts with clutter. From that I was free to explore the photographic aspect and move away from the usual standard side shots, top shots etc. Fresh and simple lifestyle images allowing the products quality to speak for itself.

Outcome
Grazia magazine published the layouts alone with editorial copy about the products. I worked closely with the Grazia studio to maintain a cohesive ‘look and feel’ which helped shape the photography and typography.
